How the mapping works
- Japanese: vowel (あいうえお) → pitch from the 5-note scale. Voiced kana (が・ざ…) shift up one octave. Long mark
ーextends the previous note. Small kana (っ) is a short rest.んis a low percussive tick. - English: vowels (a/e/i/o/u/y) → pitch; consonants → a soft low tick; spaces and punctuation → rests of varying length.
- Other characters (kanji, numbers, symbols): a brief rest so the reading rhythm continues.
